Today I decided to drive up to the beach. It’s July in Indiana and there isn’t much to do. And I know what you’re thinking… “a beach in Indiana?”
Yes Indiana, which lies on Lake Michigan, has some of the countries most calm and lowkey beaches. Surrounded by sand dunes in some areas and views of Chicago skyline in others, it’s certainly worth a day trip. I pack up my beach essential kit with sunscreen, towels, and snacks and my playlist ready. But there’s one thing I can’t forget, that’s become my “Must Have” for any day at the beach, in the sun, or just lying in bed, my hydration refresher as I love to call it. This is a homemade beverage concoction that varies in ingredients but remains consistent in key resources: potassium, sodium, and vitamin C. Today’s refresher is a 32 oz of spring water, mixed with 1/4 tsp of potassium bicarbonate, 1/2 tsp of redmonds real salt, and 1 orange (vitamin C). I stir everything in and pour it into my clear glass water bottle and head for the door.

This refresher makes my day at the beach a little lighter, a little brighter and that much more enjoyable. It’s the little things in life that consistently add to our wellness, like a homemade hydration refresher!
Warmly,
