In the picture above, you see me wearing a pink fleece jacket with a zipper and two pockets, Eddie Bauer fleece lined pants (sooo warm) and my Ariat boot, the Heritage RT zip Paddock style. All of this was worn for maximum comfort and warmth for an enjoyable walk in nature!
It’s February 25,2024 and the temperature rose up to 53° today. That is miracle weather where I’m from and the sun couldn’t have been more appreciated. We’ve had so many cold, grey cloudy days lately that I almost forgot how refreshing and beneficial it is when the sun is out. But today I was reminded and boy, did I feel good. Winter blues are definitely a thing!
To celebrate the nice weather and lovely sunshine, I went for an evening hike at the nature preserve. There were so many people out, just as eager to enjoy the sun and warmer temps while they’re here. Birds were chirping and people were smiling, it almost was like a foreshadow to Spring. Except I know not to be silly.
The outfit above did a good job of keeping me warm and from the waist down, a 10/10 for both maximum warmth. The jacket was not as breathable as I like which resulted in some uncomfortable sweating and my lazy “running out of the house so grab those socks” choice of socks proved disappointment. All in all, I’d say my outfit choice for today’s local hike was a 7.
